SHIELD – Joint Master’s Double Degree
The SHIELD program is one of the cornerstone initiatives of the Franco-Indian Campus in Life Sciences for Health.
It is jointly coordinated by the Université Côte d’Azur (UniCA) in France and the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi) in India, with the collaboration of academic and research partners in both countries.
SHIELD was conceived to foster education, research, and innovation at the intersection of health, life sciences, and artificial intelligence. Its overarching objective is to prepare a new generation of experts capable of designing data-driven solutions for healthcare, biomedical research, and digital medicine.
Indian Franch Master in Computational Biology
The SHIELD double-degree program offers a unique academic pathway that combines bioinformatics, data science, and health technologies.
Students are trained to analyse complex biological and medical data using advanced computational tools, while developing a deep understanding of the biological and clinical context.
Students successfully participating in this program will be awarded:
- a Master degree in Life Sciences (reference RNCP35342I), specialized in Computational Biology, track “Bio-informatique et Biologie Computationnelle” from Université Côte d'Azur,
- a Master degree in Technology in Computational Biology from Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology
The curriculum covers:
Machine learning and deep learning for biomedical applications,
Computational genomics and systems biology,
Medical image analysis and data integration,
Digital health systems and ethics of artificial intelligence,
Collaborative research projects supervised by faculty from both France and India.
Students spend one academic year in each partner institution and receive a joint Master’s double degree from UniCA and IIIT-Delhi. This structure promotes scientific mobility, cross-cultural experience, and collaborative research between the two nations.
